Danny Lipford: Recently we attended the 2014 International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas, and we found some pretty cool stuff.
Scott Jackson: So what we have here is a full range of products—wall and ceiling products—that are designed for patching a ceiling or patching a wall. A lot of homes have texture that is very difficult to patch. And as you know, once you actually go through and patch that surface, you have a bald spot on your wall or ceiling that doesn’t look like anything else.
So we have a full range, allows you to quickly and easily just adjust pressure and pattern from a very fine texture to a very coarse texture on orange peel, or you could go from very high pressure to a very low pressure.
And it basically allows you to match the surface much easier by giving you a full range of coverage that you could never do with an aerosol before.
The same thing for ceilings. Popcorn patches that were very difficult to do a few years ago, we have a much easier opportunity for you with just a trigger. Pulling the trigger on here, you can just get an easy, quick patch four times faster than what you would normally do with a traditional compound.
And with our wall texture product, it is actually a two-hour job, versus a traditional product that it takes two days to do the job.
please do an article with full explanation of repairing small areas on popcorn ceiling with homax ceiling texture can- your instructions didn’t cover how to get the product on properly with maximum benefit- if you check the reviews on home depot regarding this product they are very poor, claiming globs like golf balls appear & you can’t do just a small area without horrible spreading which makes it worse, my area is small & not wide it’s next to a cover we put on to cover a removed stove pipe that until we covered it on roof was slightly leaking – repair is made to that, but need to fill in small area of popcorn ceiling where maintenance man scraped it off, he claims need to use mix with big box of it… actually want to believe it can be done successfully with small amt. of can??? please help & advise send to e-mail also if possible – he’s coming Sat. feb. 23 to fix other things too- it’s been months would like to get it done. thanks so much, have a blessed weekend
Hi, Shela,
Here’s “Today’s Homeowner” host Danny Lipford’s answer to your question:
“Well, I must agree with you that the texture in a can can be very challenging to blend into existing texture.
The very best way to have the texture match is to have a professional who specializes in renovation handle the retexturing for you.”
Thanks for writing to us!
Most paint stores in Oregon only sales the aerosol cans where do you buy the other ones
Hi, Stan,
We receive numerous questions about specific products; due to the high volume of mail we receive, we do recommend contacting the manufacturer for such inquiries.
