To mark a continuous straight line around a pipe (or other cylinder) in order to make a square cut, wrap a large piece of square paper around it so that the edges line up. Make sure the paper wraps over itself and in line to ensure a square mark. To start the cut score the mark with a tri-file so that the hack saw doesn’t wander around as you begin the cut.
Thanks for tip. Now I do not have to buy another tool I will rarely use around the house.
Nice. And how do u do it lengthwise?
Glad I found this tip. Big Thank you for you tips on cutting PVC pipping. You made it so simple love the cardboard trick and triangle file for starting a cut. In the past remember cutting slid all over, and had a sloppy cut. 🙂
Thanks so much for the video on how to cut PVC pipe straight. Sounds like a silly question but it is hard. I am doing a Christmas project for our grandkids using 2″ PVC pipe and this video will help me greatly. Simple but very effective. Thanks again.
