We’re giving a couple’s master bathroom a facelift that includes a quartz countertop, a laundry chute and a fresh coat of paint.

Tom and Linda Lyles moved into their home 16 years ago, and since then, they’ve wanted to renovate the master bathroom.

The couple took down some dated floral wallpaper and did some damage that they just couldn’t fix. That was over a year ago, so this master bathroom is past due for an update!

Our plan is to make this bathroom a bit more modern and user-friendly, just as Tom and Linda intended, before their wallpaper mishap. To do that, we’ll use quality construction materials and a neutral color scheme.

The biggest change is installing beautiful quartz countertops to replace the dated laminate surfaces. What’s great about quartz is it isn’t porous like natural stone alternatives, so it’s more sanitary and resists mold and bacteria.

We’ll also remove that dated wallpaper and apply joint compound to smooth out any uneven areas before painting the walls.

Shaker cabinets are popular for their simple, modern design, and it’s not difficult to convert the couple’s cabinet doors to this style.

The vanity looks great with remodeled cabinet doors and a quartz countertop. However, a builder-grade mirror just won’t work well in this room. We’ll replace that big ugly mirror with two round mirrors that give the room more character.

Finally, this bathroom will be more luxurious and user-friendly with the addition of a laundry chute that keeps dirty clothes out of view.
