Exhaust fan

Here’s a question from our 7/6/2019 Today’s Homeowner Radio Show.

Kay in Colorado says, “My home was built in 1958. Vaulted ceilings, so no attic. I would like to have an exhaust fan installed in the bathroom.

The breaker box is outside of the bathroom window. What kind of contractor would I need to use? I would hope [the fan] would vent through the roof. I do have a small window above the tub, but I’m short, making it difficult for me to reach.”

We tell Kay to consider a through-the-wall exhaust fan. Kay could get in touch with an electrician to help install the fan.

Also, the addition of a humidistat would help her keep the hot and humid air out when it becomes too overbearing.
