Chelsea's newly renovated hall bathroom
Chelsea’s new hall bathroom is a much more functional space than before!

The second major project of Chelsea’s Ranch Revival was to renovate the hall bathroom. Listen to this special podcast to learn about the projects we tackled and find some inspiration for your own bathroom renovation!

Chelsea's hall bathroom demolition
We took the blues out of Chelsea’s hall bathroom to make it fit her style!

Demolition and Wall Expansion

Chelsea’s bathroom was a gut job from the get-go. The entire space was blue from top-to-bottom — blue ceramic tile, flooring and even the bathtub.

It was a tight space as well to get in and out of before the renovation. So we gutted the entire thing and expanded the entryway into the hallway.

Removing the tile proved to be a bigger challenge than we thought — we almost had to break out the jackhammer!

After we filled many 5-gallon buckets with debris and dumped them into the Dumpster below the hall bathroom window outside, we finally began to make the space more functional.

The new vanity is more functional for this space and Chelsea built it herself!

A New Vanity

The vanity in Chelsea’s hall bathroom before had a single sink and that was impractical for her three small children.

To maximize the functionality of the hall bathroom, Chelsea built a new vanity herself with two sinks and more counter space.

Now Chelsea’s kids and guests won’t be fighting over the sink!

Installing the Wetwall for Chelsea's hall bathroom
The new Wetwall we’re installing in Chelsea’s hall bathroom gives the space a chic look!

Installing the Wetwall

Instead of painting the walls, Chelsea decided to go for a wall panel system around the entire space.

The new paneling is from Wetwall, a Wilsonart Company, and is completely waterproof and scratch/scuff resistant.

It’s built to resist moisture and is easy to install. The sealant that is provided worked fantastically for Chelsea’s 8-foot panel that looks like natural stone.

Penny tiles in Chelsea's hall bathroom
Chelsea added a retro pop with this penny tile she chose!

Adding Retro Flair with Penny Tile

Chelsea’s house was built in the 1950s and she wanted to incorporate that into her home. So she added penny tiles to pay tribute to her mid-century home!

They were so easy to install and didn’t have to use a wet saw to do it.
