When you don’t have the correct-size adapter for connecting your shop vacuum hose to your power miter saw or another piece of equipment, make one from an old bicycle inner tube.

Cut a 4- to 6-inch-long section of the inner tube and slip it onto the end of the vacuum hose, and then stretch its other end over the dust port on the saw.

The rubber sleeve will securely hold the hose in place.
