Scrub brush and power drill with a plus sign in between
Attaching the head of a scrub brush to a power drill can do wonders for ceramic tile floors.

Power Scrubbing—Nylon-bristle scrub brushes are great for cleaning all sorts of surfaces, but they do require quite a bit of elbow grease. Here’s how to convert a standard hand scrub brush into a power attachment for your drill:

Use a hacksaw to cut the handle off of a round scrub brush.

Drill a 5/16-inch-diameter hole through the middle of the brush.

Insert a ¼-inch x 4-inch-long machine bolt in the hole from the bristle side.

Put a washer and nut and tighten it up.

Chuck the bolt into a drill.

Spray cleaner onto the dirty area, then run the drill at high speed to power-scrub the surface clean.
